Volunteer Information
The volunteer organization is vital to the operation of the golf tournament. In 2007, over 400 volunteers generously gave of their time and effort in order to make the National Mining Association Pete Dye Classic the success that it was.
For the Nationwide Tour Players Cup and the PGA TOUR, giving back is as much a passion as it is a mission. Charity has long been the hallmark of the TOUR's image and reputation. The professional athletes that compete on the Nationwide Tour represent and embrace the values of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, and giving back. Our tournament is deeply rooted in the community and we are intent on making a positive difference. Our hearts are with the communities in which we live and play.
On behalf of the Players Cup, please accept our gratitude for your continued support and involvement in our charitable cause that is central to the mission of the PGA TOUR.
"This is my first experience at a professional golf tournament and it was excellent. The entire week was memorable and had a positive impact for the State of West Virginia!"
- Troy Fordyce
"After walking inside the ropes with several of these players, I have come to realize how good these guys are and how one or two good breaks can have them playing on the PGA Tour next year or even this year.
- Richard "Zeke" Lawrence
"I was a walking scorer all week and got an inside the ropes perspective of a professional golf tournament...There's no question that these guys are good."
- Roy Williamson
